Licensed Counselor/Therapist

Job Description: Licensed Counselor/Therapist, Mental Health Therapist, CSW, LCSW, ACMHC, CMHC.

Green Willow Counseling is a small private practice located in Murray, Utah. We provide outpatient mental health services to individuals and families, and we specialize in helping survivors of trauma and sexual abuse. We also treat depression, anxiety and life adjustment concerns. We work with individuals of the LGBTQ+ community and offer support to those going through a faith crisis or transition. We believe that each of us has the ability to heal from the past and to lead a fulfilling life in the present. We use evidenced-based modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and inner child work to treat symptoms of trauma. We also implement mindfulness and meditation in session with our clients. We believe that understanding the mind-body connection is crucial to healing.

This is an opportunity to work in private practice and gain crucial clinical experience through individual therapy and with the option to facilitate group counseling. New hire will be encouraged to find and grow within their niche and continue professional development. This is a part time position with the potential to build up to full time. Compensation is based on an hourly rate for sessions and is dependent on applicants experience, already established health insurance credentialing, licensure, and availability.

Desired Qualifications

  • Desire and ability to work with trauma survivors and PTSD
  • Knowledge of the treatment of complex trauma or willingness to learn about trauma related disorders.
  • Some experience working with sexual abuse survivors.
  • Experience working with or willingness to work with vulnerable populations.
  • Bilingual Spanish / English a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Psychotherapy

  • Develops meaningful rapport with clients in order to facilitate the treatment process.
  • Provides individual psychotherapy to clients and their families through face-to-face sessions.
  • Has availability of 20-30 hours per week.
  • May facilitate therapeutic groups as needed.
  • Ability to contact and message clients when not in session to address immediate concerns and scheduling.

Information and Referrals

  • Represents Green Willow Counseling with a professional image and manner at presentations, community outreach and collaboration efforts.
  • Shows confidence in knowledge base and people skills.
  • Assists in advertising for the agency on an as needed basis, maintains current professional online profiles and may support the ongoing growth of the agency.
  • Assists clients with referrals and outside resources as needed.

Documentation and Evaluation

  • Completes biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and clinical notes within 24 hours of therapy appointment.
  • Knowledge of DSM-V disorders and diagnosis.
  • Schedules existing clients in a timely manner using EMR software.
  • Maintains work calendar and scheduling with potential and current clients.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and provide individual and group counseling.

Supervision and Meetings with Clinical Director

  • Engages in case consultation and trainings.
  • Participates in quarterly progress reviews and goal planning meetings.

Continuing Personal Development

  • Learns about new developments in their field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and establishing and maintaining contact with other professionals.
  • Remains current with CEU requirements.
  • Follows the Code of Ethics of licensing board.

Requirements

  • Current licensure in the State of Utah in Social Work or Professional Counseling.
  • Willing to submit to background check.
  • Participates in trainings and competencies as directed by employer, eg. Suicide Prevention, HIPAA etc.
  • Collaborative, creative and passionate.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including: writing, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and listening.
  • Ability to walk, speak and write.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to hold professional boundaries with clients in and out of session.
