Psycho-Social Rehab Specialist

Alliance House is seeking a full-time Generalist to work within a team setting, who will be responsible for engaging members (our clients) to build relationships and take advantage of opportunities within the Clubhouse program. As a Clubhouse Generalist you will get to experience the magic of Clubhouse which facilitates hope, personal growth and responsibility, in order to empower a higher quality of life for the member. Members involvement with Alliance House creates a deliberate community and leads to a life of achievement and fulfillment. We believe in utilizing and promoting the talents, strengths, and abilities of our members as opposed many traditional treatments which focus mainly on clinical diagnosis and caretaker roles. In our community there is not a hierarchy of staff and members, rather we are all contributors to the Clubhouse and have a collegial working relationship. Staff and members of Alliance House are given the opportunity to travel and connect with Clubhouses around the world!

Clubhouse generalists are charged with the awesome responsibility of empowering members and experience a new perspective and approach to social work in a nonclinical and egalitarian setting. Clubhouse generalists will be fully immersed at every level in all environments both internal and external, public and private engagement, forging and strengthening authentic relationships with and between our members, community partners, and with mental health advocacy in the broad and ever-growing international movement to crush the horrifying, crippling, and tragically lethal stigma associated mental illness. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (associate degrees in a social service-related field will be considered).
  • 2 years of experience working in mental health or social services.

Required:

  • Have a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive a 15-passenger van.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and TB test.
  • Able to lift at least 25 pounds and be able to spend ample time on your feet.
  • Must be able to pass certification for CPR and First Aid.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing day-to-day operations side-by-side with the membership.
  • Be the most authentic version of yourself to build meaningful relationships.
  • Effectively communicate with members, staff, and administration to keep the flow of the day and the work moving.
  • Able to facilitate multiple individuals at the same to ensure that members of the Clubhouse are engaged.
  • Completing bottom line responsibilities through engagement and working side-by-side with members.
  • Planning and coordinating work tasks with small and large groups.
  • Job coaching and training members in employment, occasionally working off site with a partner employer.
  • Documentation and goal development.
  • Advocacy and case management.
  • Collaboration with outside agencies.
  • Housing, education, and employment assistance.
  • Assisting in training of Clubhouse colleagues from around the world.
