Birth and Development of a Community Initiative: The Trauma-Resiliency Collaborative
ABSTRACT
The Trauma-Resiliency Collaborative (TRC), established in May 2014 in Salt Lake City, UT, is an ad hoc, and open, community-interest group comprised of multidisciplinary professionals and paraprofessionals. The initial meetings and kick-off event were instrumental to the synergy of the organization. The TRC’s organic growth and minimal time commitment by members facilitates participation and maximizes efficiencies.
The success of the TRC model is dependent on highly skilled individuals and/or experts in trauma- and resiliency-related work, who enjoy collaboration by contributing insights, resources, contacts, etc. to further other colleagues’ ad hoc projects and objectives. The TRC has evolved into a model that promotes both individuals and organizations by encouraging an atmosphere of success for all.
