Paid Research Opportunity
Optimizing Chronic Pain Care
About the Study:
We are conducting a study of pain management strategies for people taking long term opioids. This study is being conducted to understand the benefits of having chronic pain management consultationvisits, compared to chronic pain management consultation visits plus a mindfulness-based program.
You will NOT be required to take a new medication as part of this study since this study is testing behavioral treatment. You do NOTneed to stop or reduce your pain medication to be in this study, though your medication use may change while you are in the study. If you participate in the study, you may be randomized to an eight-week mindfulness- based program for chronic pain in addition to your chronic pain management strategy that you collaboratively decided upon with your physician. Otherwise, you will be randomized to continue with the chronic pain management strategy you have decided upon with your primary care provider without the mindfulness program.
