A Survey of Women Inmates in Utah
Study Dates: 2004 Study Description: Female inmates constitute one of the fastest growing segments of the inmate population. In addition, the rate of recidivism among women offenders has been rising sharply in recent decades. Yet we rarely see theoretical attention focused on the unique characteristics of women that are incarcerated. This report provides information regarding the characteristics of female prisoners in Utah, and the issues particular to their confinement.
