This research was conducted in the refugee camps in the West Nile region of Uganda in the Rhino Camp Refugee Settlements. The objective was a pilot mixed methods assessment of the challenges that refugee and host communities face, and the challenges placed on the healthcare systems of the host country of Uganda.

In 2017, there were over 65 million displaced persons at the global level, with approximately 23 million of these people living as refugees around the world. In this same year, the U.S. resettled 53,716 refugees, with the State of Utah receiving 954 of those refugees.

This article describes the potential unintended consequences of a research project on women’s reproductive health.
