Services within Domestic Violence Transitional Housing Programs: Understanding Variations across Program Structure and Location
European Conference on Domestic Violence (ECDV) Symposium 2025 Presentation
Description: Five years of programmatic data across more than 100 housing programs were analyzed to identify trends and differences in survivor and child sociodemographic and service use during their stays. Results show a substantial heterogeneity of program structure, client demographics, and support service utilization between rural and non-rural DVTH programs, reflecting the variety of survivors’ and their children’s needs. There is a need for dynamic and flexible services and an understanding that some services may be less available in rural areas, thus requiring additional and innovative approaches.
