Poster Presentation at College on Problems of Drug Dependence Annual Scientific Meeting

April 2025

Presenters: Dell, N., Carbone, J., Anasti, T., Preble, K., Gezinski, L.B., & Grimes, L.

Description: Human trafficking (HT) survivors experience high rates of substance use disorder (SUD), with nearly 20% of emergency department (ED) visits with HT survivors having multiple SUDs (poly-SUD) documented. Poly-SUD is associated with poor health outcomes generally, but whether ED outcomes vary for HT survivors with distinct patterns of poly-SUD is less studied. This study identified patterns of poly-SUD among HT-related ED visits and tested whether ED disposition was associated with class membership.
