Organization Overview
Jacky’s Recovery Support Services (JRSS) (formerly Latino Behavioral Health Services (LBHS)) is a nonprofit, grassroots organization based in Salt Lake City, Utah, dedicated to reducing disparities in access to behavioral health services for Latinx/Hispanic communities across the state. Founded in 2013 as a peer-run organization, LBHS provides culturally and linguistically responsive services that include therapy, peer support, substance use disorder treatment, psychoeducation, community outreach, and recovery-oriented programming in both Spanish and English.

LBHS employs more than 20 staff members and works with interns and volunteers to serve individuals and families across five Utah counties, reaching more than 2,000 community members annually. Our work is grounded in trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented principles, with strong partnerships across Utah’s behavioral health, court, and community systems.


Position Overview
The SUD Program Coordinator/Therapist is a bilingual, licensed or license-eligible clinician who provides direct clinical services while also leading the development and coordination of culturally responsive substance use disorder programming across LBHS.

This role serves predominantly Spanish-speaking adults and bilingual youth (ages 12–18) and their families, with a strong emphasis on co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The position also supports community education, outreach, and collaboration with Utah-based systems including courts, recovery partners, and community organizations.

Services are delivered through a combination of in-person and telehealth modalities, with limited travel to partner sites across the Wasatch Front to support equitable access to care.


Core Responsibilities

Clinical Service Delivery

  • Provide a minimum of 15 clinical hours per week of individual and/or family therapy to adults, adolescents, and families, primarily serving Spanish-speaking clients.
  • Deliver evidence-informed, trauma-responsive treatment for individuals with mental health, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions.
  • Complete all required clinical documentation in compliance with Utah licensing standards, Medicaid requirements, and organizational policies, including:
    • Biopsychosocial assessments
    • Treatment plans
    • Progress notes
    • Clinical evaluations

Program Coordination & Development

  • Lead the development, implementation, and coordination of LBHS substance use disorder programming, ensuring cultural, linguistic, and trauma-informed responsiveness.
  • Develop and implement a culturally adapted outpatient SUD treatment model appropriate for Latinx communities in Utah.
  • Expand and strengthen LBHS’s use of CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training), including:
    • Cultural adaptation
    • Staff and volunteer training
    • Community implementation

Community Outreach & Systems Collaboration

  • onduct outreach and engagement with clients involved in Utah court systems, diversion programs, and recovery pathways.
  • Provide Naloxone education and training to LBHS staff, partner organizations, and community members in accordance with Utah public health priorities.
  • Facilitate community-based support groups, classes, and activities, including but not limited to:
    • FUERZA – a youth leadership, advocacy, and mental health group
    • SMART Recovery – a skills-based recovery support group

Team Collaboration & Organizational Support

  • Work collaboratively with LBHS peer mentors, case managers, and administrative staff to provide integrated, whole-person care.
  • Participate in:
    • Weekly clinical supervision
    • Bi-weekly staff and clinical meetings
  • Support occasional evening or weekend outreach and community events as needed.

Education, Skills & Certification Requirements

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (required)
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Utah as one of the following:
    • SUDC / CSW / LCSW
    • CMHC / LCMHC
    • MFT / LMFT
    • Or equivalent Utah-recognized credential
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
  • Demonstrated ability to support individuals experiencing acute emotional distress and complex trauma
  • Commitment to culturally responsive, recovery-oriented, and community-based care
