Job Club Volunteers at Refugee Services Office

Help Refugees Succeed at the Refugee Services Office

What is a Job Club?
A supportive space where job seekers gain skills, guidance, and resources to successfully apply for jobs and
build confidence.

At our Refugee Job Club, we focus on helping participants:

  • Apply for Jobs: Navigate online applications and overcome language/technical barriers.
  • Develop Next Steps: Learn how to follow up on applications, check emails, and stay in touch with
    employers.
  • Practice with Mock Interviews: Build confidence through interview preparation.

Why We Need It
Refugees often face challenges when trying to understand and navigate the job market. Barriers such as
limited English proficiency, digital literacy issues, and lack of access to technology can make the process
daunting. The Job Club provides the support and resources necessary to help them succeed in securing
employment.

Why We Need Volunteers
Volunteers are essential to our success. By lending your time and skills, you can make a real difference in a
refugee’s journey toward self-sufficiency.

As a volunteer, you’ll:

  • Assist with job applications.
  • Help guide participants on what to do next: checking emails, following up with employers, etc.
  • Conduct mock interviews.
  • Provide encouragement and mentorship.

How to Get Involved

  • Schedule: Flexible, but Job Club runs Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 AM–12:00 PM.
