Post-Masters Internship awarding a Certificate of Advanced Specialization in
Integrated Behavioral Health

Program description:
- 53-week experience starting August 18, 2025.
- Ideal for training toward licensure and developing skills in the growing field of integrated behavioral health
- On-site individual and group supervision from our current doctoral fellow and LCSW supervisors
- $37,000 stipend and $4,000 pro-rated raise with full Colorado license.

Training Setting:
- The St Mary’s Family Medicine Residency in Grand Junction, CO includes 14 faculty physicians and 27 resident physicians.
- We are recognized by NCQA as the highest level of Patient-Centered Medical Home.
- Our integrated care team includes 2 LCSWs, 4 MFTs, an addiction medicine physician, a clinical pharmacist, and 3 MSW interns.
- Rotations include addiction medicine, HIV clinic, neurology clinic, an elective, and behavioral health interventions in our primary care clinic.
Program Faculty:
- Sara Barrett, LCSW • Sara completed her MSW at Colorado State University. She has been supervising MSW interns and licensure candidates in the Integrated Behavioral health setting since 2018 and currently runs the MSW training program at the Residency.
- Randall Reitz, PhD • Dr Reitz is a licensed MFT and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. Prior to joining the St Mary’s faculty, he was the executive director of the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association and completed his doctorate at BYU.
- Michael Olson, PhD • Dr Olson is a licensed MFT and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. He has taught MedFTs and family physicians since 2001. He completed his PhD at Kansas State University, and a post-doc fellowship at University of Texas Medical Branch.
- Amy Davis, MD • Dr Davis is the Medical Director of our embedded HIV specialty clinic. She completed medical school at SUNY Buffalo and residency at Dartmouth.
- Ryan Jackman, MD • Dr Jackman completed residency at St Mary’s a fellowship in Addiction Medicine at University of Colorado. He runs the addiction clinic in our residency and oversees the fellowship’s addiction curriculum.
- Jessica Stephen-Premo, PhD • Dr Stephen Premo is an LMFT who completed her PhD at Virginia Tech. She is the Director of Behavioral Health in our addiction clinic.
- Tonya Cook, PharmD • Dr Cook completed her doctoral studies at University of New Mexico and leads our psychopharmacology curriculum.
- Alicia Gutierrez, LCSW • Alicia completed an MSW at University of Denver. She is a bilingual and bicultural therapist who supervises the intern in the HIV clinic.
