Afterschool Prevention Program Facilitator
Overview
This position will teach a prevention curriculum in elementary and/or junior high after school programs in Magna and/or Kearns.
Responsibilities
- This position will be part of a team of prevention program facilitators assigned to teach a substance misuse/violence prevention curriculum to elementary and junior high students in after school programs in Magna and Kearns.
- The primary responsibility will be to get trained in the curriculum and then to teach 15 weekly lessons throughout the 2024-25 school year at one or more schools.
- Some data collection and implementation documentation will also be required.
- Teaching will occur during the week in afterschool programs, approximately 3:00 to 6:00 pm. The number of hours and the schedule will be determined by the selected individuals' availability.
- Individuals will be compensated for travel time to and from assigned teaching locations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
- Must have experience and enjoy teaching or working with youth
- Have an educational background in education, public health, prevention, health education/promotion, family studies, psychology, or other related field.
- Must be available during weekdays between 3:00 and 6:00 pm.
