Orientation Modules, Connect with Academic College, Course Registration

Welcome to the University of Utah and the College of Social Work! All students new to the University of Utah must complete New Student Orientation (NSO). After confirming your intent to enroll and paying your enrollment deposit you will register for NSO (First Year, Transfer, or UOnline). Don’t delay registering for orientation!

First Year and Transfer Students: You will register for your first semester at NSO with an academic advisor.

UOnline Students: You must complete NSO before scheduling an appointment with an academic advisor to get registered for your first semester.

After you complete the Canvas NSO modules, you must:

  1. Complete each of the Social Work Course Planning steps listed below.
  2. Meet with a Social Work major advisor. You can schedule this appointment in advance, however you must complete everything mentioned previously prior to your meeting.
