Community Matters 2018

 A Message from the Dean

During my very first visit to the University of Utah, I was struck by the tremendous volume of community-based work happening at this Research I institution. It is a critical element of social work education and scholarship and continues to be one of the University’s great strengths. The U’s President Ruth Watkins is fond of saying that this is the University for Utah—a clever turn of phrase that perfectly captures one of the prized institutional values I’ve observed since first setting foot on-campus.
