Overview
This real-time, full-day professional course is designed for clinical supervisors.
It meets Utah’s requirements (under R156-60e-306.1) as an approved pathway for clinical
supervisor training.
This 8-hour synchronous training covers:
- Definition and conceptualization of clinical supervision and models
- The supervisory relationship and the supervised individuals' development
- Supervision methods and techniques
- Standards of practice, codes of ethics, and legal and professional issues
- Executive administrative tasks
With full participation, you will earn:
- A certificate of completion, and
- 8 hours of real-time, interactive continuing education units (CEUs)
- Includes 2 ethics CEUs
The training will include a one-hour break for lunch. Food will not be provided.
After covering expenses, a portion of profits from these trainings will be used to
support practicum stipends for social work students.
About Presenters
Bacall Hincks, LCSW, Associate Professor/Clinical
Bacall is a child and family therapist specializing in working with children involved
in kinship and foster care. She has over 20 years of experience working in the social
work field, specifically with children and families that have experienced trauma,
including past roles as director of GRAND families and chief clinical officer at Dahlia’s
Hope.
Sonya Martinez-Ortiz, LCSW, Assistant Professor/Clinical
Sonya is a licensed clinical social worker, educator, yoga teacher, and community
practitioner whose work integrates social work education, clinical practice, and organizational
leadership. With more than 20 years of experience in trauma recovery, nonprofit leadership,
and community-based social work, Sonya brings a comprehensive approach to social work
education.
Jamie Hales, LCSW, PMH-C, Assistant Professor/Clinical
Jamie is a licensed clinical social worker and perinatal mental health-certified therapist.
She is passionate about advocacy and improving outcomes for underserved populations,
as demonstrated through her work with the Utah Women and Newborns Quality Collaborative
and the Utah Chapter of Postpartum Support International.
Laura Van Hook, LCSW, Assistant Professor/Clinical
Laura is the owner of Therapy by Design and has worked in multiple settings as a social
worker and teacher. She worked as a medical social worker at Primary Children’s for
15 years and as a crisis worker at Primary Children’s for five years. She has also
worked as a hospice social worker, a school social worker, and a special educator.

Your registration includes 8 hours of real-time, live, interactive continuing education units (CEUs) (2 ethics CEUs).
You must attend the full training and successfully complete a short quiz in order
to earn credit.
