Overview
Social isolation among older adults is a growing concern with major implications for health, well-being, and quality of life. About Presenter
Carson De Fries, PhD, MSW, is an assistant professor at the University of Utah College of Social Work, where she specializes in gerontological social work with a focus on intergenerational relationships, social isolation, minority aging, and culturally responsive end-of-life care. Drawing on a range of methodological tools, including social network analysis and community-based participatory approaches, her work investigates the complex interplay between interpersonal connections and structural barriers in later life.
