Children and families are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes, while also dressing appropriately for the weather. This is primarily an outdoor event, so please plan accordingly.
Officers Hollow is led and staffed by student volunteers from the University of Utah’s Bachelor of Social Work Student Association (BSWSA), Housing and Residential Education, and Lowell Bennion Center for Community Engagement.
No, parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their children.
Yes, Officers Hollow activities are wheelchair accessible. Some student housing may require simple accommodations for trick-or-treating.
Free parking will be available nearby. Please look for signage.
Service animals are welcome, but please do not bring pets. Service animals must be leashed and in control at all times.
We need volunteers to help set up, facilitate activity booths, and clean up. Click here for more information and to sign up to volunteer. If your company/organization would like to sponsor and staff an activity booth, please email: BSWSA@utah.edu.
Yes! We will gratefully accept unopened, commercially packaged candy and allergy-friendly small toys. Drop off candy at the College of Social Work (SW 101) or the Bennion Center (Union 101). Monetary donations can be made online and allow the organizers to direct your support to the event's greatest needs.
The University of Utah’s Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Student Association presented
the first Officers Hollow in 2004, in partnership with students from Housing and Residential
Education, and with support from the Lowell Bennion Center for Community Engagement
and the College of Social Work. Since the event’s founding, each year, Officers Hollow
has welcomed support and involvement from new and longtime academic and community
partners.
