Bio

Joanne Yaffe is professor emerita of social work.  She is a proponent of evidence-based practice, reproducible research, and multidisciplinary collaboration. She served in many roles at the University of Utah and College of Social Work, including director of doctoral studies, chair of the University Research Committee and the chair of the University Research, and as a member of the Academic Senate Executive Committee.  She was editor-in-chief of the Journal of Social Work Education and an active contributor to the Campbell and Cochrane Collaborations.  Dr. Yaffe received the Linda K. Amos Award for excellence in service to women and the Mary Shields McPhee Award for faculty excellence in service. She continues her work in evidence synthesis.
