Bio
Dr. Farley spent 48 years studying and teaching at the College of Social Work. During his tenure, he served as Director of the Doctoral and the Masters Programs, Associate Dean for Research, and Director of the Social Research Institute (SRI). Dr. Farley’s teaching duties were in the HB&SE area, and he very much enjoyed teaching MSW and PhD students. He practiced rural social work throughout Southern Utah and in the University of Utah Psychiatric Clinic, and was an official Mental Health Examiner for the State of Utah. Dr. Farley worked with the Wilford Goodwill family to establish the Neighbors Helping Neighbors program, which helps senior citizens living in the Salt Lake Community. Throughout his career, he published 24 articles, 26 monographs, and six books. Dr. Farley has enjoyed watching students becoming caring and effective social workers serving families and individuals in need of their professional and caring help.
