Crime Victims Needs Assessment

The Utah Office for Victims of Crime contracted with SRI to conduct a statewide crime victim’s needs assessment. The primary focus of the project is to assess crime victim service provisions, survivor needs, and community service gaps. The needs assessment will include the analysis of secondary crime data, administration of an online survey to judges, law enforcement, victim advocates, service providers, and crime survivors as well as in-depth interviews and an analysis of crime victim service administrative data. A literature review and analysis of best practice services will also be conducted. Initial crime focus will be on domestic and interpersonal violence followed by sexual-related crimes. Other crime types to be determined at a later date.
