Social Worker

BASIC FUNCTION The school based social worker/counselor will provide case management, group counseling and individual counseling to referred students enrolled in the Wasatch County School District. The school based social worker/counselor will consult with families and teachers of the students receiving services.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to: •Support parents of students receiving counseling services, specifically relating to educational and/or emotional concerns. •Participate in multi-disciplinary case conferences. •Provide case management to families to assist in coordination and educational, behavioral, and emotional care. •Attend required meetings and school related activities. •Adhere to policies and procedures of Wasatch County School District, assigned schools and state of Utah. •In-service staff on behavioral and mental issues. •Conduct classroom observations and/or behavioral analyses of students. •Collaborate with teachers/staff on functional behavior assessments, behavioral intervention plans, and individual education plan services and assist in developing appropriate behavioral strategies. •Assist families of students in locating and securing community resources. •Review appropriate student records. •Obtain pertinent documents for students’ records.
