Research RA

Healthy Aging and Resilient Places Lab is looking to hire an Hourly Research Assistant to join our team. The RA will be hired as part of the Nature Rx Pilot project funded by the Nature and Human Health group at the University of Utah. “Nature Rx” (or nature prescription more broadly) is an emerging concept where doctors prescribe their patients to spend time in nature to promote health and wellbeing. The Nature Rx Pilot project aims to identify barriers and facilitators to implementing nature prescriptions to improve mental health in older adults in Utah.

The RA will support the design, coordination, and implementation of the Nature Rx Pilot project. We have a partnership with the Aging Brain Care for participant recruitment, and the program will be delivered in partnership with the Red Butte Garden. Major duties include i) coordinating with clinics, research participants, and community partners; ii) supporting the development and implementation of the pilot program, which is schedule to be delivered in early Summer 2023 (tentatively); iii) assisting with the data collection and analysis; and iv) assisting with the report write-up and presentation of research findings, which will take place around October, 2023.

Pay will be based on university rates. The position is for 10 hours per week with a tentative starting date of Feb 15, 2022.
