Community Engagement Director

The Organization
The mission of the Rape Recovery Center is to empower those victimized by sexual violence through advocacy, crisis intervention, and therapy and to educate the community about the cause, impact, and prevention of sexual violence. Our philosophy is that every person victimized by sexual violence is treated with dignity and respect and is empowered to work toward recovery.

Job Overview
The ideal candidate will have a passion for ensuring that all communities are aware of the resources the Rape Recovery Center provides and a mission to prevent sexual violence. The Community Engagement Director provides program management, budget oversight, and staff supervision duties for the prevention, marketing and outreach teams at the Rape Recovery Center. This individual is responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with other programs, both internally and externally, reporting on program outputs/outcomes, and developing new programming. This position will be responsible for ensuring that community engagement programs are responsive to survivors and the community at large in compliance with laws, regulations, and grant requirements. This is a full-time, benefited, salaried position ($50,000-60,000) at 40 hours per week.

Reports To: Associate Director

Key Responsibilities
● Oversight of the RRC’s outreach, marketing and prevention programming
● Provide trauma-informed supervision to staff
● Manage departmental budget
● Assist with grant management, writing grant goals, and reporting on outputs/outcomes
● Assist with departmental and agency-wide strategic planning and visioning
● Build collaborative relationships with staff, volunteers, and community members
● Attend internal and external meetings
● Represent the Rape Recovery Center in public facing events, media coverage, and others as assigned

Requirements
● Applicant must have a bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social work, human services, sociology, or related field or a minimum of 5 years experience with demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a related field
● Applicant should be able to demonstrate strong public health, nonprofit administration and trauma informed lens
● Proven education, communication skills, and relationship management experience
● Proven staff and volunteer leadership and supervisory skills with an ability to supervise, train and assess progress

Desired Qualifications
● A Master’s Degree in public health, public administration, social work, human services, sociology, or related field
● A strong understanding and/or interest in social justice
● A strong understanding of sexual and domestic violence service delivery, outreach and prevention
● An understanding of government grants, reporting requirements, and administration processes
● Bilingual/Multilingual candidates will be given preference

Conditions of Employment Offer
● Complete and pass a criminal background check
● Comply with flu and covid19 vaccination policy
● Obtain a 40-hour crisis counselor certification within 90-days or the next available training
● Complete all new hire paperwork by end of the day on the first workday

The position is full-time, including occasional evening and weekend hours for special events, meetings,
