Position Summary: The Development and Outreach Director will work closely with all UHHR staff to advance
our mission by securing funding from corporations, foundations, and individuals, managing
fundraising and community events, communications, and individual donor stewardship
that are critical for continued growth. They will oversee the design, implementation,
and monitoring of all efforts to leverage donations including monetary and in-kind.

This position reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with the entire UHHR team.

Primary Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
Fundraising
• Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan with both long and short term specific and measurable goals and objectives
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective donors, partners, and sponsors
• Write grant proposals for individual, corporate and foundation support
• Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure fundraising efforts support direct services and direct service staff are aware of funder expectations
• Develop and manage a comprehensive donor stewardship program that includes acknowledgment, recognition, report writing, and overseeing an annual calendar of stewardship and recognition events;
• Manage donor database and report progress monthly to Executive Director
Public Relations, Social Media, Communications
• Plan communications for media, clients, volunteers, donors, newsletter and social media followers
• Create, share, and update social media, newsletter, and website content regularly and develop strategies to increase followers and subscriptions
• Assist with the design of materials such as brochures, flyers, videos, etc.
• Seek out and maintain community contacts with other agencies, media, professional groups, community partners, etc.
Outreach and Events
• Coordinate and execute all special events for donors, clients, and community members
• Continue current events and create new events to garner new supporters, create community, recruit volunteers, and raise awareness of our mission
• Participate and attend outreach events for various community stakeholders
Agency Responsibilities
• Attend and participate in regular staff, leadership team, and board meetings
• Contribute ideas to program planning and assists the program in meetings its goals
• Comply with policies and procedures governing the program and ensure that the program is operating at maximum efficiency.
• Meet or exceed program productivity expectations on a regular and sustained basis
• Maintain stringent client confidentiality and adhere to code of conduct both in and outside of the office
• Attend all required meetings, promote and represent the agency in a positive, pro-active way, maintain a trauma-responsive culture of respect, honesty and dignity with co-workers and clients
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, Public Relations, English, Journalism,
or a related field, or equivalency
• Three years’ experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, business, public relations, annual, corporate or foundation giving
• Experience in grant or proposal writing, public speaking, and events management
• Ability to relate well to individuals from various backgrounds
• Proficiency in Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Youtube and TikTok with a personal interest in current social media trends, best practices and tactics
• Self-directed (but also work well in a team setting), outstanding organizational skills, passionate about storytelling and our mission
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaboratively with attention to details and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including good written and verbal communication skills, listening skills, coachable, and ability to work with diverse groups
• Valid driver’s license, access to an automobile, insurance, and willingness to drive to off-site locations, highly preferred.
