Care Manager/Social Worker

The Women’s Resource Center at The University of Utah enthusiastically welcomes applications for our Care/Case Manager Provide individual counseling services for University of Utah students. Provide co-facilitation for one evening support group. Engage in case management for all clients including case management requested by other clinicians on staff. This position will monitor the waitlist in collaboration with the Assistant Clinical Director and address initial contacts and intakes in a timely manner. Clinical consultation with other clinicians and trainees as needed. A strong knowledge base regarding anti-racist and affirming mental health care is required.

  • Provides counseling for individual clients as well as case management and advocacy as needed
  • Facilitates an evening support group for women
  • Completes and maintains appropriate counseling records in the Titanium database.
  • Must have a strong feminist perspective in counseling theory and be committed to an empowerment model based on the sociopolitical analysis as well as client coping skills and their contexts.
  • Represent the WRC as a liaison with other campus departments and local community mental health resources.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W. ) certificate for clinical practice and two years directly related experience; demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team; ability to communicate verbally as well as in writing; and experience with conflict resolution when counseling individuals, couples, and groups required. Experience working with community resources, instructing and supervising Social Workers, Interns, and other caseworkers preferred. Five years of experience may be required in some areas.

An L.C.S.W. is earned after completing 4000 hours of Social Work experience and a passing score on the L.C.S.W. exam.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. Department Preferred Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited school; Licensed mental health provider in the state of Utah or ability to work towards licensure in this position in social work, professional counseling, or marriage and family counseling.
  • Demonstrated human relations and effective verbal and written communication skills; and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, problem solve and resolve conflicts for Individuals, couples, and groups.
