Bilingual Therapist

THE ORGANIZATION
The mission of the Rape Recovery Center is to empower those victimized by sexual violence through advocacy, crisis intervention, and therapy and to educate the community about the cause, impact, and prevention of sexual violence. Our philosophy is that every person victimized by sexual violence is treated with dignity and respect and is empowered to work toward recovery.

JOB OVERVIEW
The licensed therapist will provide direct services to survivors of sexual violence through weekly individual psychotherapy sessions, crisis services, and facilitation of supportive psychotherapy groups for primary and secondary survivors. We utilize a trauma-informed lens that focuses on empowerment and strengths-based perspective when working with clients. The position entails providing direct service to clients 70% of the time, the remainder of the time will be dedicated to personal development, inter-agency meetings, and supervision. Opportunities for community outreach, creativity, and collaboration with partnering community agencies. The therapist position will include excellent supervision, active engagement with a highly collaborative clinical team, and opportunities for professional growth and leadership. 

This is a full-time, benefited, 32-40 hours per week position. The remuneration for this position is based on trauma therapy clinical experience, experience in working with vulnerable communities, knowledge, and willingness to learn about the feminist multicultural therapy approach, as well as a deep understanding of intersectionality. This is an hourly position of 32 hours per week with the opportunity to increase hours with dialogue with the clinical director and team. Hourly rate $25-$28/hour with an increase in hourly rate/salary dependent on experience, licensure, and ability to provide services in Spanish. 

Reports To: The therapist reports to the Clinical Director. Clinical supervision for this position will be provided by the Clinical Director. All therapists shall observe the RRC personnel policies and practices, as well as professional ethics. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Psychotherapy
● Provide individual psychotherapy to 15-20 clients under the clinical supervision of the Clinical Director.
● Facilitate 1-2 groups from 5:30 to-7:00 pm weekly.
● Provide crisis intervention to clients and callers on the phone as needed.
● Engage in professional training and follow the code of ethics of the licensing board.

2. Information and Referrals
● Represent the Rape Recovery Center with a professional image and manner at presentations and community events. Show confidence in the knowledge base, people skills, and competency.
● Assist with educational presentations and 40-hour training clinical day (3x/year)
● Assist in supporting Spanish speaking clients regarding immigration, documentation, and access to services in and outside of agency as needed.

3. Documentation and Evaluation
● Keep accurate service and clinical assessment records on all clients.
● Supply surveys and assessment tools to clients for individual and RRC service evaluation.
● Complete biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and clinical notes within 24 hours of a therapy appointment.

4. Supervision and Meeting
● Meet with the Clinical Director for weekly clinical supervision.
● Participate and engage in weekly clinical meetings and training seminars.
● Engage in case consultation and conceptualization for clients.
● Participate and engage in weekly agency staff meetings and other meetings as directed.

REQUIREMENTS
● Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Masters in Counseling, Social Work, or related field, licensure eligible.
● Bilingual (Spanish) speaking therapist
● Demonstrated knowledge of working with Spanish communities, issues with accessibility, and barriers to treatment.
● Demonstrated knowledge of Utah statutes concerning mental health and crisis services.
● 40-hour state-mandated crisis counselor certification
● Innovative, collaborative, and self-directed
● Outstanding communication skills, including writing, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and listening
● Ability to work well with—and inspire confidence in—volunteers and clients
● Excellence in balancing multiple responsibilities
● Organized and detail-oriented
● Understanding of micro, mezzo and macro systems and their impact on survivors

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Must embrace the mission of the Rape Recovery Center
● Masters or Doctorate degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology.
● 2-5 years of clinical experience
● Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of the treatment of complex trauma.
● Experience and understanding of providing Spanish speaking services including immigration, undocumentated immigrants,
refugees, asylees.
● Experience with case management, crisis advocacy, working with vulnerable populations (LGBTQI+, Homeless, Pacific
Islanders, American Indian/Native American, undocumented immigrants)

Conditions of Employment Offer
▪ The employee must complete and pass a criminal background check and show proof of licensure
▪ The employee must obtain a 40-hour crisis counselor certification within 90-days or next available training.
