Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Who we are: Ascendant Behavioral Health’s Comprehensive Treatment Center for Addictions in Taylorsville, Utah is a Self-Contained Continuum of Care that has recently opened in response to the Opioid Epidemic to provide Ambulatory Withdrawal Management, Medication Assisted Treatment, Standard/Intensive Outpatient Services, and PHP. We have a full-service CLIA licensed lab.

Position Title: Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC)

Status/Pay/Hours: Full time, non-exempt and/or part time hourly $17-22 per hour or negotiable DOE Hours of Programming can be AM, PM, and or Weekends

Supervisor: Clinical Director

Primary Functions:
• Assist with screenings, admissions, and patient orientation
• Facilitate group process including family groups
• Provide individual counseling and crisis de-escalation
• Complete ASAM assessments
• Document all billable and non-billable services in EHR
• Coordination of care within service spectrum
• Individualized treatment planning and timely reviews
• Verification of benefits and utilization reviews
• Discharge planning
• Community resource linkage and case-management
• Participation in Aftercare and mutual-help groups

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in social or health services field with 2+ years experience in counseling field; or bachelor's degree in other field with 4+ years experience in the counseling field; or Master's degree in social or health services field with 1 year professional work experience; degree must be from an
accredited college or university. Mental health professionals in the process of licensing are more than welcome to apply.
