Research and Funding Opportunities for Future Students

Admissions to the College of Social Work PhD Program are based on education training, scholarly potential, research and practice experience, test scores, and other factors. We specifically look for career objectives (research and teaching), a strong match between student and faculty research interests, and identification with the social work profession, as well as documented evidence of research and writing ability. We prefer that applicants have a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited school of social work and a minimum of two years of social work experience; students with a MA in a related discipline may also qualify for admissions.

Newly admitted students to the campus PhD Program (both full-time and part-time) may only begin classes during fall semester.

The annual application deadline for campus students is January 16th, complete applications may be considered on a rolling basis throughout the spring.

We encourage individuals to apply as early as possible.
